Open to participants of all ages and abilities, this 1, 3, or 5-kilometre dash covers participants in vibrant, colourful powders. With a post-race Colour Carnival featuring music, dancing, and activities, it’s an unforgettable day for everyone. Registrations open in November 2024, and you can sign up for our waitlist to ensure you are the first to know when registrations open.

What is the Colour Dash?
The Colour Dash is a fun-filled vibrant community event where participants complete a 1, 3, or 5-kilometre course, starting in white and ending covered in colourful powders. It’s all about celebrating, inclusivity, health, happiness, and community connection.
When and where is the event?
The Colour Dash will take place on March 9, 2025, at Ngataringa Sports Fields in Devonport, Auckland. In case of bad weather, the backup date is March 16, 2025.
Who can participate?
Everyone! The event is open to all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun, family-friendly day out, the Colour Dash is for you.
How can I register for the event?
Registrations will open in November 2024. In the meantime, you can sign up for our newsletter to be eligible for an early bird discount and get event updates.
Is the event accessible?
Yes, the Colour Dash is designed to be fully accessible and inclusive. We welcome all participants!
What do I wear?
You'll be provided with an official Colour Dash event t-shirt (white!) as part of your race pack. We recommend wearing white (at least on your top half), so the colourful powders really stand out by the end of your dash. Don’t worry, the powders are safe, non-toxic, and wash out easily! We also recommend rocking some colourful accessories to bring lots of vibrancy to the event!
Is the colour powder safe?
Yes, the powders are made from natural, non-toxic ingredients and are safe for both people and the environment. They’re also easy to wash off after the event.
What happens after the dash?
After the dash, join us for the Colour Carnival! There will be music, dancing, photo opportunities, activity booths, and a sausage sizzle to enjoy with friends and family.
Can I volunteer at the event?
Absolutely! We’re always looking for volunteers to help out on the day. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us through the website for more information.
Where do the event proceeds go?
The Colour Dash deesigned to be an unforgettable community event and major fundraiser for The Liz Soper Foundation of Care, a registered charity in New Zealand. The foundations purpose is simple: To reduce the financial barriers to fun. We help adults living with complex disabilities enjoy life's extras—those unforgettable experiences the shape life.
